Title: Models and Strategies of Sustainable Development in Mountain area of Tetova Region

Abstract: This study focuses on the strategies to be followed for sustainable management in Sharr Mountain. The potentials for the development of this area, the actual ways of managing it so far and the problems and risks which accompany this process. In the focus of the study are also the successful experiences of the sustainable management inside and outside Macedonia. Interregional cooperation through various programs and initiatives is indispensable for the development of the Sharr region in general and the area of the highland of Tetova in particular. Efficient management of natural and human resources in the function of tourism would enable the development of this sector, job creation and increased income for the community. The mountain tourism along with that agricultural and hand-made working , are the real possibilities for the increase of the earnings to overcome the crises and for the economical and social development of the Municipality.
