Title: Conceptual Differences in Fundamental Rights Protection in the European Union after the Lisbon Treaty
Author: Runcheva, Tasev Hristina
Abstract: The paper gives an overview of the conceptual differences in the protection of human rights before and after the Treaty of Lisbon. The author analyzes the Charter of Fundamental Rights from two aspects: its implementation over the past six years of application and an overview of the advantages and challenges of a plural and complex mechanism for the protection of human rights, where threefold protection from: the Charter, the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and the National Legislation intertwine and in certain cases overlap.
